Breaking barriers


In her directorial debut, Lealani Siaosi tells her own story through Chris and Tauasu. Lealani’s ultimate goal was to bring light to an injustice that many Kiwi’s refuse to acknowledge, that racism is alive and thriving in New Zealand.


I’ll be your mirror is the intimate portrait of three generations of women, torn between social norms, children’s needs and their own desires.

SAFE ZONE is a feature documentary about the resilience of women and girls caught in the chaos of the Syrian refugee crisis. The film is the intimate story of two girls, Fatima and Nariman, currently living in refugee camps in Lebanon as they and their families try to rebuild their lives.

With the intention of breaking the news of their recently discovered pregnancy, Ingrid and her boyfriend travel down the coast to visit her eccentric mother-in-law. Surrounded by rugged bushland, Ingrid has a series of unsettling encounters that bring her anxieties about motherhood to the fore.
